“Do It Scared, Do It For You”
50 × 100 cm
Acrylics, coffee & natural pigments
This piece holds a story very close to my heart.
The day I was supposed to travel to Rome for my first exhibition abroad, everything changed. Two hours before leaving for the airport, Pafos airport suddenly closed. Fear took over, fear of what was happening, fear of traveling, fear of the unknown. After many thoughts, I decided not to go that day.
The next morning, reality hit me hard. I felt like I had lost something important. I was heartbroken, confused, and torn between fear and a deep desire to be there, to live the moment I had been dreaming of.
The only way I knew how to process it… was to paint.
I poured everything onto the canvas, my fear, my sadness, my hope. Painting became my escape, but also my clarity. And by the end of that same day, I made a decision: I booked another flight.
A few days later, I made it to Rome. I stood there, present, proud, and deeply grateful. My first exhibition abroad became real, and even more meaningful than I had imagined.
This painting is a reminder.
A promise I made to myself:
To do the things that scare me.
Because on the other side of fear… life unfolds in the most beautiful ways. ✨
